Philodendron ‘Summer Glory’ – Hybrid Tropical Statement Plant

Care Requirements
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which can scorch its leaves, but don’t place it in too low light, as this can lead to “leggy” growth and smaller leaves.
Watering: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry out before watering thoroughly. It is sensitive to overwatering; ensure the pot has excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix containing ingredients like orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir.
Humidity & Temp: Prefers higher humidity (above 60%), but is resilient enough to tolerate average household levels. Keep temperatures between 18°C and 27°C (65–80°F) and protect it from cold drafts.
Growth Habit: There is some debate, but it is primarily a creeping (crawling) hybrid. While young plants may look upright, they often grow horizontally across the soil surface as they mature, making wide or rectangular pots better than tall ones.

Key Features
Easy Care: It is considered more resilient and “beginner-friendly” than many other rare Philodendrons.
Size: Indoors, mature leaves can reach 30–40 cm across, with the plant spreading up to 90 cm wide.
Toxicity: Like all Philodendrons, it contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic to pets and children if ingested.
