Echeveria glauca | Rock Rose | Desert Rose Succulent | 12cm Pot

Echeveria glauca, commonly known as Rock Rose or Desert Rose, is an attractive evergreen succulent prized for its beautifully symmetrical rosettes of soft, glaucous blue-grey leaves.

Its sculptural, rose-like form makes it an excellent choice for succulent collections, decorative containers, sunny patios, rock gardens and low-maintenance gardens. As the plant matures, it can produce offsets around the base, gradually developing into an attractive cluster of rosettes.

During flowering, slender stems rise above the foliage carrying delicate, nodding red and yellow flowers, adding another layer of colour and interest.

Like most Echeverias, Rock Rose thrives with plenty of light and excellent drainage. Its drought-tolerant nature makes it particularly well suited to gardeners looking for a striking plant that requires relatively little maintenance.

Plant Care

Light:
Full sun to very bright light. Good light helps maintain the plant’s compact rosette shape and attractive colouring.

Water:
Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing the growing medium to drain well. Reduce watering substantially during cooler periods and avoid keeping the soil continuously wet.

Soil:
Use a loose, fast-draining cactus or succulent growing medium. Excellent drainage is essential.

Humidity:
Prefers dry, well-ventilated conditions rather than high humidity.

Evergreen, clump-forming succulent producing attractive rosettes and offsets as it matures.

Flowers:
Produces upright flowering stems with nodding red and yellow flowers.
