Philodendron ‘Pink Princess’ – Pink Variegated Collector Philodendron

Key Characteristics
Royal Foliage: Features large, heart-shaped leaves that can range from deep olive green to almost black or chocolate-burgundy. The leaves are splashed with shades of bright bubblegum pink, which occur due to a natural genetic mutation.
Stems and Undersides: Unlike some look-alikes, the Pink Princess has distinctive reddish-purple stems and often displays a coppery or red hue on the leaf undersides.
Growth Habit: It is a climbing vine that uses aerial roots to attach to surfaces. While it can trail, providing a moss pole or trellis encourages larger leaves and more robust vertical growth.
Unique Variegation: Every leaf is different; patterns can appear as small spots, streaks, or even “half-moon” blocks of solid pink.

Quick Care Guide
Light: Requires bright, indirect light to maintain its pink colour. Without enough light, the plant may “revert” to all-green leaves. Avoid direct hot sun, which scorches the pink patches.
Water: Water when the top inch or two of soil is dry. Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix to prevent root rot.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (60%+). Low humidity can cause new leaves to get “stuck” or emerge with tears.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. It contains calcium oxalate crystals that cause severe oral irritation and swelling.
