Key Characteristics
Foliage: Features thick, exceptionally glossy, heart-shaped leaves that grow in a tight, compact pattern. The leaves typically reach 4–11cm (1.5–4 inches) in width.
Stems: Unlike many other vining philodendrons, it has very stiff, thick, upright stems that give it a “beefy” appearance.
Growth Habit: It is a slow-growing climber that uses aerial roots to attach to surfaces. Providing a moss pole is highly recommended to support its heavy stems and encourage larger leaf development.
Bloom: Mature specimens can produce pairs of white spathes with red flowers.
