🌿 Caladium Bi-Colour ‘Flamingo’ Care Sheet
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Too much direct sun can scorch the delicate leaves, while low light reduces colour vibrancy.
Watering:
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy during the growing season.
Water when the top 2–3cm of soil is dry.
Reduce watering when the plant enters dormancy.
Humidity:
Thrives in high humidity (60–80%).
Ideal for bathrooms, humid rooms, or near a humidifier.
Temperature:
Ideal range: 18–30°C.
Sensitive to cold; temperatures below 15°C can cause leaf loss.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, rich potting mix with added perlite or coco peat.
Good drainage is essential to prevent tuber rot.
Fertilizing:
Feed every 4 weeks during active growth (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Stop feeding during dormancy.
Pruning & Maintenance:
Remove yellowing or damaged leaves at the base.
Handle leaves gently, as they are thin and delicate.
Dormancy:
Caladiums naturally go dormant in cooler months.
Leaves may die back completely—this is normal.
