🌿 Philodendron ‘Brandtianum’ Care Sheet
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light.
Can tolerate medium light, but variegation is more pronounced in brighter conditions.
Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
Watering:
Water when the top 3–5cm of soil is dry.
Keep soil lightly moist, never soggy.
Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity (55–75%).
Can adapt to average indoor humidity but benefits from a humidifier or pebble tray.
Temperature:
Ideal range: 18–28°C.
Avoid temperatures below 15°C and protect from cold drafts.
Soil:
Use a well-draining, airy aroid mix (potting soil with perlite, orchid bark, and coco peat).
Supports healthy roots and encourages climbing growth.
Fertilizing:
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
Support:
Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage climbing and larger leaves.
Pruning & Maintenance:
Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base.
Pinch back stems to maintain a compact shape if desired.
Repotting:
Repot every 1–2 years or when rootbound.
Best done in spring using a slightly larger pot.
