Ficus lyrata (Fiddle Leaf Fig) Care Sheet
Size: 62cm in height
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect sunlight.
Can tolerate some direct morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon rays as they can scorch leaves.
Rotate plant every few weeks to promote even growth.
Watering:
Water when the top 5–7cm of soil is dry.
Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy.
Use room-temperature water.
Reduce watering slightly in winter.
Humidity:
Thrives in moderate to high humidity (50–65%).
Mist leaves occasionally or use a humidifier in dry environments.
Temperature:
Ideal range: 18–24°C.
Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Soil:
Use a well-draining indoor potting mix with peat, perlite, or bark for aeration.
Ensure pot has good drainage holes.
Fertilizing:
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer.
Pause feeding in autumn and winter.
Pruning & Maintenance:
Remove yellow or damaged leaves.
Prune to shape or control size in spring.
