Pachypodium saundersii

Pachypodium saundersii, commonly known as the “kudu lily’, is a succulent shrub native to southern africa, including mozambique, zimbabwe, and kwazulu-natal. It’s known for its swollen, tuberous stem and sharp thorns. Here are some key features:

• appearance: it has a swollen stem up to 1 meter in diameter and can grow up to 1. 5 meters high. The plant produces narrow, thorny branches and dark green shiny leaves.

• flowers: it produces masses of white flowers with a pinkish/purplish tinge from february to may.

• habitat: it grows in dry woodlands, often among rocks or in rock crevices.

• care: it thrives in well-drained, sandy soil, full sun, and requires sparing watering. It can withstand moderate frost and is an excellent container plant.
