Description

The Haworthia comptoniana is a captivating South African succulent prized for its distinctive translucent leaves and artistic leaf patterning. Each plant is entirely unique, with glass-like green windows that catch and reflect light in the most elegant way. No two are alike—each has its own delicate visual fingerprint.

Native to the quartz-rich regions of the Western Cape, this slow-growing succulent forms compact, symmetrical rosettes that sit close to the ground. In its natural habitat, it often nestles in rocky crevices, shaded by surrounding vegetation. This makes it especially well-suited for low-light or indirect light conditions.

Key Features:

  • Distinctive Foliage: Translucent green leaves with intricate, vein-like patterns

  • Individual Character: Each plant is visually unique, like living art

  • Low Maintenance: Thrives on minimal care—perfect for beginners

  • Indigenous Wonder: Endemic to South Africa’s Western Cape

  • Ideal for Display: Great for windowsills, rock gardens, or desk planters

Plant Care Tips:

  1. Soil: Use a well-draining mix such as GROEI Premium Cactus Mix.

  2. Watering: Water sparingly—only when the soil is completely dry.

  3. Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight; tolerates partial shade.

  4. Temperature: Keep warm and protect from frost.

  5. Potting: Plant in a container with excellent drainage and avoid overwatering.

Each Haworthia comptoniana is sold bare root and will be similar in size to the plant shown (12 cm pot size in photo). While the shape and leaf patterns may vary slightly, all plants are healthy and in excellent condition.

A must-have for collectors, this rare and visually striking succulent brings understated elegance to any space. Whether grown solo in a pot or as part of a miniature landscape, its beauty never goes unnoticed.
