Crawling Growth Habit: Unlike many philodendrons that climb trees, this is a “creeper.” Its main stem (rhizome) grows horizontally along the surface of the soil.

Massive Heart-Shaped Leaves: It is famous for its large, glossy, deep green leaves that can reach up to 60 cm in length. The leaves feature prominent, deeply recessed white or light green veins that create a “quilted” look.

Potting: Because it crawls, it requires a long, rectangular planter rather than a deep, round one. Never bury the rhizome in soil, as this will cause it to rot.
