R350.00
The Anthurium ‘Fort Sherman’ (a specific clone of Anthurium papillilaminum) is a legendary and highly prized “unicorn” plant among aroid collectors. Collected in the 1980s near the former US Army base in Panama, it is celebrated for its dramatic, dark, and ultra-velvety foliage.

Key Characteristics
Velvety Foliage: Features elongated, arrowhead or dagger-shaped leaves with a luxurious, deep-green “oil slick” finish.
Distinctive Veining: Unlike some other papillilaminum clones, it is known for its prominent golden-greenish veins rather than reddish ones.
Leaf Shape: The leaves are notably narrow and triangular with an open sinus (the space between the top lobes). As the plant matures, the lobes can resemble “bunny-like ears”.
Growth Habit: It is an epiphytic climber with a slightly “leggy” growth habit and larger spacing between its leaf nodes compared to other dark velvet anthuriums.
Quick Care Guide
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light, direct sun will scorch its delicate velvet surface.
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but never saturated. Use a very chunky, well-draining aroid mix (bark, perlite, and charcoal) to prevent root rot.
Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally 75% or higher, to maintain its pristine velvet texture and prevent crispy edges.
Safety: Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals that cause oral irritation and swelling.
