My journey began in the aquatic hobby, where I fell in love with designing nature aquariums. There was something magical about creating miniature ecosystems, and soon, I found myself captivated by the art of terrariums. Each one became a tiny world of its own, a reflection of nature’s intricate beauty, captured in glass.

In December 2023, I took a leap of faith and founded The Birchery Store, debuting at The Willowbridge Slow Market. It was a moment of both excitement and purpose—a chance to share my passion with others and bring a little piece of nature into their homes.

My vision is simple yet bold: to establish The Birchery Store as Cape Town’s first dedicated terrarium retail space, making these enchanting creations accessible to everyone.
