Velvety Underglow: In its juvenile stage, the heart-shaped leaves are a deep, shimmering green on top with a stunning maroon-to-purple underside that catches the light as the leaves flutter.
The Great Transformation: As it climbs, it undergoes a radical metamorphosis. The small, soft leaves grow massive (up to 50cm) and lose their fuzz, becoming glossy, deeply lobed, and almost leathery.
Iridescent Sheen: The young leaves have a “silky” texture that looks almost iridescent under bright light, making it a favorite for terrariums and cabinet setups.
Compact Climber: Unlike some “leggy” philodendrons, the lupinum tends to stay quite dense and lush, creating a thick wall of foliage when grown on a pole.
